Originally a Demonstrator for Pierce, this Engine was purchased used when the previous Engine 6, an American LaFrance, was totaled in an accident. Since my first visit to photograph the new Engine, the crew has customized the rig with several home-made additions including painting the front of the Q, a large "6" on the front grill, the village name "Conimicut" on the front windshield, and the station patch on the cab.
